Third Sector Health & Wellbeing Networks

The Third Sector Health & Wellbeing team at PAVS facilitates 8 Health & Wellbeing Networks and Forum for Pembrokeshire through a variety of approaches including regular face to face or online meetings, information bulletins and e-mail updates to specific mailing lists. Pembrokeshire Older People’s Network

Established in August 2020, the Pembrokeshire Older People’s Network is a network of people with an interest in services for older people in Pembrokeshire. The network exists to represent member interests and to provide a way to share knowledge and information with all older people in Pembrokeshire, and to make an effective contribution to the planning of health and social care services for older people in Pembrokeshire, the development and delivery of the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales Strategy 2019-22, and the implementation of this within Pembrokeshire.

The Network is well attended by many organisations in Pembrokeshire, plus members of the Pembrokeshire 50+ forum and a representative from the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales’s office.

Pembrokeshire Carer’s Provider Forum

Established in September 2020, an independent Forum of organisations providing, or wishing to provide, services to unpaid Carers of all ages in Pembrokeshire. The Forum exists to bring members together to make an effective contribution to the planning and delivery of services for unpaid Carers of all ages in Pembrokeshire.

This Forum feeds into, and receives information from:

  1. Pembrokeshire Carers Strategy Partnership Board
  2. West Wales Carers Development Group

The forum is well attended, with representation from Pembrokeshire based organisations supporting Carers including PCISS, carers groups, the Health Board Investors in Carers lead, carers, plus national organisations the All Wales Forum for Parent Carers and Carers Wales.

Pembrokeshire Day Opportunities Provider Forum

Re-established in August 2020, membership consists of providers of day services, staff from Pembrokeshire County Council Commissioning team and training, Health Board representatives and user representatives. 

Purpose of Forum

  • To provide an opportunity for PCC to disseminate information about commissioning intentions.
  • To facilitate debate and discussion between commissioners and providers (and other stakeholders) about commissioning intentions and policy developments
  • To give providers and users a voice and influence on PCC’s decisions and policy.
  • To provide information to ensure that PCC’s market position statement for day opportunities remains current and reflective of the local market place.
  • To share experience, expertise and good practice.
  • To share potential opportunities for service diversification and development
  • To foster greater partnership working between PCC and independent providers.
  • To co-ordinate initiatives (training, marketing, guest speakers)

Pembrokeshire Bereavement Forum

The Pembrokeshire Bereavement Forum is a multi-agency group of people who have an interest in the provision of bereavement services for people of all ages in Pembrokeshire.

The Forum exists to bring members together to make an effective contribution to the planning and delivery of bereavement services for people of all ages in Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire Dementia Provider Forum

Established in early 2021, a Forum of organisations providing, or wishing to provide, services to people living with dementia and their Carers in Pembrokeshire, facilitated by PAVS.

The Forum exists to bring members together to make an effective contribution to the planning and delivery of dementia services in Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire Living with Dementia Forum

Established in November 2020

  • To provide a platform for people living with dementia to be consulted with and   influence decisions relating to the development of dementia services, projects and or resources.
  • To provide an opportunity for people living with dementia to share their first-hand experience and knowledge of living with dementia.
  • To influence decision makers.
  • To ensure that people living with dementia are not just heard but are listened too.
  • To empower and enable people living with dementia to make positive change.

Pembrokeshire Befriending Network

Established in 2020, The Pembrokeshire Befriending Network [the “PBN”] is a cross-sector alliance of groups and organisations providing befriending services in Pembrokeshire. The PBN exists to represent member interests and to make an effective contribution to the planning and delivery of befriending services in Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire Children & Families Network

Established in early 2021, the network aims to provide a way to share knowledge and information with organisations and agencies working with children and families in Pembrokeshire.

Objectives

  1. To provide a link between network members and the relevant strategic planning groups
  2. To promote services for children and families in the County and share that information with colleagues and communities.
  3. To provide a cross-sector network for information exchange and the sharing and development of good practice
  4. To inform the planning of strategy
  5. To provide a unified county voice for the Network to raise common issues of concern, inform policy development and campaign on national issues
  6. To identify shared training and development needs
  7. Where appropriate, to identify and support groups to take forward new projects
  8. To support specific projects conducted under the auspices of the network

Pembrokeshire Arts & Health Network

In early 2020, SPAN Arts established a new Arts and Health network for Pembrokeshire to build on the growing body of evidence that shows that the arts can play a vital role in transforming communities, tackling loneliness and isolation and improving health and wellbeing.  

The Network was established pre-COVID to find a better way to coordinate our efforts to raise the profile and impact of arts and health activity in Pembrokeshire.
